Europeans call NFL for "pu$$ies"

I don't care what they think about the NFL. They don't care what I think about European Soccer.

You know what kids in the US who aren't fast enough, big enough, strong enough for football do, don't you? They play soccer and cross country.

BTW, go to the UK sometime and visit a few pubs. What you'll see are signs that say something like "No Football Coaches." If you're a soccer fan, they basically don't want to let you in. Over there, soccer (fans particularly) is seen as crude, boorish, and low class. The high class game is rugby.

On whatever level appeals to you, soccer is for losers.

I agree. I don't even believe the outcome anymore - pretty much all of the major league sports results are contrived now. It's all fake from start to finish. I can't believe it's come to that, but it has.

Coach D, I have seen this myself. I was in Scotland last year and stopped in a small pub for a few beers. They had a sign that said 'No Colors'. My friends and I could only think of street gangs (bloods or crips). We asked the bartender about it and she said futball jerseys were not allowed in the pub because they cause fights.

Pretty sad reflection of the fans I would say.

Do they actually get in cussfights during the middle of the games?

I'd much rather see a rugby game, it has different quality, its not so plastic, you see people on the field rather than plastic, metal, and foolish looking spandex.

Why would they want to come play American football? Its a different game.

Rugby players have to be much more flexible in how they play.

Football (American) players only need to do one thing. Some guys tackle, some guys cuddle other guys, some guys throw and others catch and run. You've even got a couple of guys that only kick every 10 minutes or so.

Football players wouldn't last 5 minutes in a game of Rugby, wouldn't be aerobically fit enough and would probably not like getting hit without all the kevlar.

there's actually a scheme involved in american football, there's signals, tactics, drills. And they are great athletes.

how many pathetic white rugby players are 6ft 4 225lbs and can run a 40yrd dash in 4.35 seconds?

football isn't about just hard hitting, its about athleticism and tactics.

rugby is just a bunch of big oafs running around hitting each other.

if you just want to see people attack each other then watch UFC or boxing.

Rugby players would get eaten alive by an NFL line. Their "versatility" would not help them at all. They're different sports, see?

Well said Come on Over. I understand that not all athletes are motivated by $$$. For the 99.999% that are, I am surprised that not one of them is a legendary rugby player that may want to make the 5-10million/month that the best NFL running backs, linebackers, defensive ends make. Maybe working that second job beats it. I am sure if rugby payed it's top guys milllions, the likes of Bo Jackson, Dwight Freeney, Chris Johnson, Barry Sanders etc, etc would not give it a go for fear that some guy named Max O'callahan would take their head off. Rugby is a great sport played by athletes inferior to those in the NBA and NFL.

Well said Come on Over. I understand that not all athletes are motivated by $$$. A couple points to the OP, don't have THAT much to do with the thread.

-A major study was done that showed that football helmets are the reason that there are so many concussions. They encourage players to hit harder and make helmet to helmet contact. I just find that interesting.

-Second point is that the reason football's speed is unmatched is because they are all juiced out of their minds. The NFL has the least strict drug testing among all sports. It's essentially expected that players cheat.
