hey, if these message boards are well-known among the elite runners, at least in America, then lets have a roll-call. If you don\'t want to say your name, fine... I don\'t really care. But if you consider yourself an \"elite\" runner--- signify it on this thread.
Most elite runners are probably out training.
Aguy... you don't know too many elite runners, eh? You can only train a few hours a day. And that counts running, drillsm stretching, icing, lifting. Add all that up, and you're looking at 3 hours. If you're running 2x a day, maybe 4 hours a day is spent on your conditioning. The rest of the day is spent sleeping, reading, watching tv, hanging out with friends, playing video games, surfing the internet, eating. Believe it or not... MANY even find time to work, god forbid, 20, 30, 40, 50 hour weeks! Running does not take all day, and if it is taking them all day, they're overtraining.

A lot of ppl on this board seem to think just because i say i am somebody it is true. Just because i post under the name gabe jennings, does NOT mean i am him (i think this lesson was taught on the 2nd day of kindergarten).

Hey Wow, I hope you are ok, with something wedged up you derriere so far, I'm worried for your health. From your writing, I gather you have been called a moron yourself before. Perhaps that is why you are so bitter. In response to your note, I thought it would be fun to throw that out there and see if anyone, either authentic or not, signed on to claim that they were an elite runner. Yeah, I figured some Nurmis and Prefontaines might sign in, but so what? I thought it would be fun, and so far, besides your sour little retort, it has been. For one, we have found a rising American porn star, at the very least you could thank me for that. And hey, who knows, maybe a Krum or a Broe or a Teter or anyone else may actually happen to see it and say something. I'm pretty sure they are just normal people that have heard of the internet too; they probably even occassionally read running related material on here. so, say they don't post, so what... say they do... cool. Either way, if you are looking for a moron in this thread, you ought not look further than your own poorly written post. Oh, and I would even venture to suggest, that it is jerks like you who would make it even more unlikely for an elite runner to post on here anyway. I thought it was pretty awesome that Kevin Sullivan said some things on here... maybe you missed those, because you were too busy looking for someone to call stupid. Oh, and the part you wrote about Tergat, that was actually pretty funny.

I'm an elite runner. After faking my death I've spent the last 2,492 years training for my return to running prominence, waiting for the Olympics to return to Athens. I would have raced in 1896 but Spiridon Louis heard about my return and hired someone to injure my leg a month before the games. I intend to win gold in 2004 with a sub 2 hour marathon.
A good number of elite runners read these boards, maybe half. However, roughly 15% of those elites who do in fact read these boards actually post here, mostly under pseudonyms.
