did you shed it quickly?
did you shed it quickly?
last summer was injured, took off few months went from 1:47-165 but then got back to 147 in a few weeks ... i'm 6 1 for the record
I gained 78 pounds (148 to 226). But that was only after 29 years of injury.
I haven't shed it all yet (nine years after that "peak" weight)--have about 25 pounds to go. But I guess that, on average, it's coming off faster than it went on...
20 lbs within 3 months of the end of collegiate competition, then it stopped. Let me check... yep it's still there.
I gained 15 pounds in 4 weeks once. I got injured and kind of had a mental breakdown. I just ate and ate and ate, like I would eat 1/2 gallon of icecream in one sitting and shit. Looking back it just seems bizarre. When I stepped on the scale a month later I nearly shit my pants, but I kind of expected it at the same time. What sucked is I injured myself cross training in a way that almost any form of exercise impossible, and I got more depressed, and I gained more weight. Went from 150-168 pounds altogether, got back down to 155 after several months of running before getting injured again got up to 165, started losing it, then got mono and had to stop exercising again. What a drag.
About 240lbs. I went from 225 or so to 465. Still trying to lose it.
my ex bet me i couldn't gain 10 lbs in a week. so i gained 12 in 7 days (mostly beer and pasta late night). took my time shedding the weight over the summer.
after i ran my first marathon i was burned out and took the summer off. don't know how much i gained but i was visibly fatter. my best, somewhat educated, guess is 15-17 lbs.
fortunately i've never been forced into a lengthy layoff due to injury. just self imposed breaks.
10-15 lbs over 4 months. Took about a year and a half to get it off. But I didn't really try to cut the weight for about 6-8 months. So, I guess I could have dropped it over 4-6 months if I really watched diet.
I was 143-166
148-179..
I was 179 about 8 weeks ago.. I am now 166 and still losing weight.
Well, it wasn't inactivity, but it was very little running.
167 lb and about 8% body fat at graduation from college to 186 and 5-6% body fat in 14 months of lifting hard. No idea why I did it, because I had no intention of competing in body building.
2 pounds over 3 years. They're still there, though I'm starting to get back into running again, so they should come off quick. Back up to 40 mpw after not running at all for 3 years.
Though my weight really hasn't changed, the composition of the weight definitely has. Looking forward to getting lean again.
Its been 4 and a half months off of running so far (injured) and the first 3 and a half were complete inactivity. i've gained 10-15 pounds. The past month with xtraining i have been able to mostly maintain but i'm trying to lose it.
I gained 3 pounds once not running
I seriously don't understand how I can weigh the same running 50 mpw and zero mpw. What is the metabolic explanation? I think I eat the same. And I'm 40.
sort of bragging and sort of serious
I actually lose weight when I'm on a break. Mostly on purpose. Sick of not being able to see my abs so I get skinny again over the off season, and I do this just by eating way less. 1200-1500 Cal a day.
10 pounds in a 10 day period while eating the same way every day. I NEED to run
80lbs in 10yrs
'88 140
'98 220
'08 160
One of my teammates claimed to have gained 11 pounds in two weeks.
10 lbs from PR racing weight.
I have mixed feelings about it. I was well underweight, and although I've never been anorexic or bulimic, I suspect that staying underweight wouldn't be the healthiest thing.
After 2 years of NRR injury or low mileage, I ended up on the low end of normal weight and I keep thinking that I'll have an easier time getting faster if I lose the weight. Probably not the smartest thing though.
My last year of full on competitive racing I was at 125 lbs. As of earlier this year I was around 180. I wasn't fat, still had some abs, but more doughy. Had a nice string of injuries for a few years to assist the weight gain. Also 5'10, and still around 165.
Sad thing is at 180, I could train at a faster pace than I did at 125. Maybe I had some tiny glimmer of potential for improvement if I kept the weight down more. Hoping to get back around 145-150.
about 5-8 lbs when i didnt run for 8 months. got back pretty quickly once i went back to 40-80mpw off nothing
