I have never seen Bekele in person and I know he is usually the shortest in a race standing side by side with other runners... but 5’-0.99” is way shorter than I would have guessed.
And it goes without being said - props to Solinsky on his <27.
the other ironic thing is that he is tied for the slowest 5k pr, which is the opposite of what you'd expect from a 'big' guy (outdated obviously, hopefully that time changes soon)
I thought Bekele was 5'3-5'4.

Interesting that Wanjiru is the other one with a 13:12 5K PR.
