If I have a big race tomorrow at 6 PM, it's okay to do an easy 30 min jog + some strides around 7:30 PM the day before (won't be too close to race)?

I usually do 30-45 minutes easy with some short quick strides at the end. I usually try to do it about 24 hours beforehand, but I have done it as little as 12 hours or so and been ok. I definitely err on the shorter side if it's only 12 hours.
I usually do the one that goes through that park and down the bike path. Precisely 10:35 a.m. after I get out of class.
I usually do anywhere from 4-8 miles easy with some easy strides. Maybe just helps mentally, but like to do the run 24 hours before the race.
I usually run the same distance as the race distance at close to the same pace, just to try to get a feel for what to expect on race day. Eg: 5K race goal 16:30, I will run 5K day before in 16:45; marathon goal 2:38, day before I will run 2:40.
Hope this helps...

So your goal is to run a 16:30, so the day before you run a 16:45.... that probably the dumbest idea i ever heard.
I usually do 30 min and some strides the day before at the normal workout time. For an evening race, I'll usually do an easy 15 minutes the morning of the race just to get the legs loosened up a bit.

yer reetarded.
I'm planning to do 15 min jog 4 hours before I start warming up. Is 4 hours too close to race time?

If 15 minutes ez 4 hours before your race is going to ruin your race, you ain't very fit.
15 minutes ez a few hours beforehand is a great idea. When you get to the race site, you can do a shorter warm up - 5 minute jog, a few strides, you are ready to go.
