Will they mind me bringing my plethora of communicable diseases, weeping sores, polyp-laden cock, and "KILL ALL WHITE PEOPLE" tattoo into their pristine little club?

The health club in question is a little hole in the wall gym in the basement of the hotel. The hotel itself has seen better days. Not a big loss.

The year I ran the marathon there, the only food on hand post-race was some watery chili. My wife overheard a phone conversation between an organizer and someone in which the organizer said, "These runners are very picky. They want bagels and fruit." That was three years ago, so maybe things have gotten better. The only good thing about the event was the course which has nice views and is pretty fast.

That is really lame. I think the worst part is that they try to justify it by saying that the cost of the water is not minor. Unless you're showering with Evian, the cost of the water will be only a few cents. Add a few more cents for heating the water and you're still well under a dollar.

Don't be an idiot, New England racing and especially MA racing is outstanding. Boston and Falmouth are arguably two of the best races in the country.

Yea, we in the midwest might have a few less educated, quite a bit less culture, and more tubbies, but I guarenf***entee you, we won't charge you $15 for a shower complete with a snobass attitude. In fact, if someone knows you are in need, expect a shower in their humble home, complete with a K-Mart towel, while they cook you a big ole' meal, in bacon grease of course.

Down the street is Gold's Gym where a one day pass is only $10.00, and they have showers and towells that come with the fee.

The race has been plagued by problems year after year - lack of water on the course, markings being off, every standard glitch you can imagine. The weather, beyond the control of even a crack managerial team, is likely to suck. We recommend skipping this event.

I'm from Ohio and don't know if that is a compliment or a putdown.

I think I would bypass that race... that notice is enough to piss anyone off. OK, if they said 'apologies, showers will not be available at the race' but to put the statement like they have done? I think I'll take my shampoon else where.

"If this is NOT acceptable then it is suggested that you rent a room SOMEWHERE if this is a priority in your life. The amenity of having shower facilities is a great one today and we understand this, however the COST of water is no longer a minor one for anyone or organization."

those last two sentences were totally uncalled for. didnt really have a problem until there, but the person who wrote that statement is obviously extremely bitter about something.

sounds to me like he is a member of the club and doesn't want "commoners" such as runners allowed in, even just to shower. cant think of any other reason for such hostility. don't think i'd run there after reading that personally.
