Andrew Wheating came back after his terrific 1500 last, and won the 800 tonight. His tie for the 800 was something like 1:47.7, with second taken by his Oregon teammate, Travis Thompson in 1:47.9, with third taken by Oregon duck Elijah Greer in 1:48.0. Impressive performance by Wheating and is an indicator that Vin is thinking of doubling him at NCAA's. The excellent performances by the other two duck teamates bodes well for Oregon, especially with such a good performance from A J Acosta last night in th 1500. Sitting in the wings are Mac Fleet and Matt Centrowitz. Has any collegiate team ever had such a stable of middle distance runners (Centro, Wheating, Greer, Thompson, Fleet, Acosta)? And they are doing all this without Jordan MacNamara, who has been injured.
