Wheating enjoys the beatings. they seem to result in greater mental toughness to get wheating beating pre-race

If true, then let's hope Wheating continues to get those pre-race beatings because it is resulting in some pretty incredible and tough racing on his part. The result of his pre-race beatings, as you call them, was an ass whooping on Lee Emmanuel, and a passel of OTC Elite pros. Cocky little Robby Andrews may well not take a pre-race beating, but he is most assuredly going to get a race time beating in the near future.

Robby Andrews doesn't strike me as cocky. He seems to be a humble competitor.

Wheating best event in the near future (summer 2010) is the 1500. He could be the fav at NCAA and a easy top 3 US Nat this year. Wonder what he could in a fast euro race? 3:34/3:35

Wheating took a beating today from his oregon teammates. No one has been charged in the assault as Wheating did not want to press charges... While UOregon police fear the beatings will get out of hand. Wheating has said he doesn't want to press charges for the beatings, which often occur before hard workouts and races, as he largely credits them to his recent success both on and off the track.
