My p.r. is 1:57.9, and I’m trying to get it down in the next couple of big races I have. At indoor states, I went out in 56, and completely crashed (I don’t know if it was a fluke, or if I really can’t handle that speed). I’ve been hesitant to start out that fast since then, because I don’t want to fatigue too early. But, I don’t want to ruin my season by being too careful every time. I've already done 1:59.3 a couple weeks ago, and felt pretty good. My 400 p.r. is 52 mid, and my mile p.r. is 4:50 from 9th grade. So, what is a good race strategy…how fast should the first lap be…when should I kick…?
Thanks
