Anyone remember from how far out Meb had to go solo in his 10,000AR? Just curious.

rupp may actually be challenged the whole race as kisoio has personal best's of

3k-7:34

5k-13:02

10k-27:15

HM-61:10

It depends on the weather, although its obvious Stanford would be the better race.

On Saturday in Eugene it will be 62 high with some early morning showers with slower runners.

In Palo Alto it will be 74 high and it will be sunny out, and much faster runners.

who is in the stanford 10k who is much faster than matthew kisorio???

i will agree stanford has much more depth, but kisorio at his best is faster than anyone in the stanford 10k.

ritz is not running either, as he is running only on alter g- treadmills and dirt roads, while doctors at the oregon project are trying to figure out why he gets injured so much.

The race Payton Jordan 10k is at 9:45 pm on Saturday, it will be nowhere near 74 at race time. In fact, it will very likely be under 60. The temp will be fine in Palo Alto, the question is what the wind will be doing.

Rupp has really figured out the pro scene. Avoid similar or faster competition as much as possible!

The wind is definitely the issue here. Weather forecast for the respective evenings in question have Palo Alto about 10-15 mph wind and around 50 degrees, while Eugene will be 5-10 mph wind, but maybe 45 degrees.

ever think that Rupp just would rather run at Hayward? It's not a matter of ducking comp, if he truely feels like he's in AR shape then he won't be beat either way.

Staying in oregon, he gets to run at Hayward field, in front of his fans, with a great atmosphere, and with a couple fast runners to help him with the record attempt. This scenario is probably just more appealing/enjoyable to him.

I haven't found any track times for Mr. Ndirangu, but did see this from

Ndirangu was 3rd, 5 seconds back when Rupp ran his current PR at Payton Jordan 2007.
