Noahs Ark Found!...Well, what if it is? Does this validate Bible 'Stories'

although archeology uses science, it is not itself a scientific discipline.

I think any story aired on fox news is dubious.

Old Boat != Noah's Ark.

So, they already "found" the ark once, and declared it a national park. Oops!

An old boat is not necessarily Noah's Ark. Even if it is a boat from an old story, that doesn't prove the flood happened, or even if it did, that God caused it and Noah was on a mission from God with 2 of every animal.

How big is the ark? Has anyone calculated how much space you'd need for 2 of every species that exists today?

It was a story like everything else in the Bible, taking a real event and making it into a fanciful story.

I would ask you to use a bit of logic. How big would a boat have to be to hold a pair of every animal in the world? How would a pair of every animal have been acquired in the middle east? After this flood, how did every pair disperse to the rest of the world and recreate their respective populations.

I'm dumbfounded that someone can say with a straight face that such things make sense. Of course they use the "you have to have faith" catch phrase, and once that's been bandied about, you can no longer utilize logic with said person.

I'll believe this is the arc if they also find on board 2 horse skeletons with a single spiraled horn jutting from the forehead of each skull.

Actually there are many instances where what was written in the Bible almost 3,000 years ago was found to be true in recent finds. There are new finds all the time but 90% don't get the press that this most recent Noah story.

Funny how people will accept something in history based on less proof than when it comes to Biblical things.

And just yesterday, it was in the news that they found an asteroid in between Mars and Jupiter that contained water and organic material. Further proof of how life started on earth. Noah is an important figure (i.e., demi-god) found in many cultures/religions. The word passed from Noah to Abraham following the symbolic offering of Abraham's son Isaac. The 2 bullhorns of the ram caught in the thicket symbolized the chakra (i.e., 3rd eye capable of sensing divine world) which had become entwined and crippled by the material world. The sacrifice of the ram ended humankind's direct connection with the spiritual world and the beginning of free will.

Haha you people that are SO sure that we all evolved from material less than pond scum are quiet humorous. I understand that religion takes a huge leap of faith, but if you understood the human body and how utterly complex it is, it would take another huge leap of faith to believe we came from a few atoms of organic material. There are so many things that could go wrong with your theories but you still believe them, not because you know, but largely because you are ignorant. Any one that is 100% certain we come from a couple specs of carbon is completely ignorant.

If you look at the bible as the record of some long term oral history that eventually got written down, then there probably is some basis in fact for the stories recorded. It is not inconceivable that archeological evidence for biblical stories could be produced though this one has a lot of problems within any natural understanding. Still, if you find remains of something that is clearly a large boat at 4000 meters elevation then, from a scientific perspective, you've got to come up with some plausible theory for how it got there. Within natural laws, it's a problem for floodwaters to get to that elevation because there simply isn't enough water on the planet. So, yes, if they find a boat and no good alternate explaination for how it got there then it makes the bible story more credible. That's not to say that it completely validates the biblical account of Noah's ark.

Most probably though, whatever they've found is not a boat.
