You need big junk when wearing those tight fitting speed suits that sprinters like to wear.
Proves Wariner has been the best all along!
He said the decision was "hard to wrap my hands around"
Hope that goes for his junk, too.
In the interim, he will continue to train hard
I have worked very hard to push
extremely difficult to wrap my hands around.
This press release is written to make us feel sympathetic towards Merritt but no one should. He is a professional athlete who is responsible for knowing what he is ingesting, and the make up of those items, in relation to the USADA list. There has also been plenty of talk about male enhancement products as possible performance enhancers (outside of the bedroom!). There is no excuse, and consequently no sympathy.
goddammit!
I thought we were going to be watching Merrit-Wariner, Wariner-Merritt for years to come. Shit! I'm pissed off now. This just partially ruined my day.
It makes sense now. Wariner crushes competition (including Merrit) for years - then Merritt suddenly finds extra speed!
Druggie. Hey atleast a white boy is #1 again! woohooo!

I don't really believe the excuse anyway. I also don't believe the baseball pitcher who was just suspended and said he was taking medicine for fertility (he was taking female fertility drugs, Clomid, apparently).
And here we thought he was the best "long" sprinter. I guess it's one thing to get up to speed, but another thing to keep it up....

youre an idiot, merrit has never been as fast as wariner was, his times dont come close to wariner at his best
wariner shot himself in the foot by switching coaches and f***ing up his physical, and now mental edge over merrit
without the switch from hart, wariner would be blowing merrit away still
marrits progress has been consistent with nothing to indicate it is the result of anything suspicious, this drug thing is the result of a mistake (albeit a stupid one)
take it for what you will be at least understand the situation...
Until Bolt arrives.
Until Bolt arrives.
That's what people don't realize. Merritt STILL hasn't run as fast a 400 as Wariner has... he just now has Jeremy's number in head to head battle. He has completely psyched Wariner out. I would guess the situation has instantly been reversed as of today, though.
I also predict a slap on the wrist for Merritt. He'll definitely be around for the Olympics if not 2010 and 2011.
'LaShawn Merritt’s use of this over-the-counter male enhancement product was completely unrelated to athletics'
They all say that
What exactly did he test positive for?
Just read it properly:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pregnenolone
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dehydroepiandrosterone
Both steroids - the cheating b@stard
So does this really affect any results over the past few years? It said he tested positive due to his schlong lengthener from october 09 to early 2010, so that is a while after beijing and the WC.
He's obviously an idiot but atleast he doesn't seem do be outright denying anything or pointing fingers at sabatoged tooth paste or massage cream.
If he is deemed guilty and serves an extended ban from competition then I'll agree with the notion that he's a cheat but if wada/usada decides to give him a shortened ban or no ban then we should agree with them.
it's basically Russia being the worst, and then the US. So disappointing.
have any US mid d/distance runners tested positive in the last 5 years? Decker was a long time ago, as was Jacobs.
also, he tested positive for this after the season was over and hasn't raced since.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
