I think the race is there as it always has been. All the other runners have to do is show up. Don't want to? Not enough appearance money? Then don't But don't bitch beause Hall walks away with it. This isn't Hall's problem.
But you have to realize that there is no way an American could win a race without someone on letsrun finding fault with it.

London spends more money than Boston. And Wanjiru likes flat courses anyway.
i dont think boston is watered down, goumri should be favored and has run 2:05.30, some of the runners in mondays race dont have the big name yet, but are excellent runners the younger cheruiyiot, dechase etc. merga 4th in olympics the defending champion.
i dont know why people think this is set up for hall, hall's only run one race this year, a 1:04 half marathon, he will need to run the full marathon at least to win.
i hope he or meb wins, but there are 10-12 runners who have a decent shot at winning, winning definetely will not be easy and no way is this a race a setup for anybody.

More than half a dozen sub 2:07 guys in the field. While I do think Hall might have a shot at winning it certainly won't be easy.
