1) Man I should not have procrastinated.
2) What do you mean I can't get what I want
3) I'm never going to that event again
4) Oh well, always on tv/youtube.
5) I'll scalp tickets

I travel a lot so I rarely plan ahead enough to buy a ticket, I scalp or buy off eBay. The one time I was proactive I bought 4 tickets to The Police tour a couple years ago. Paid 70 bucks each plus service charges thru ticketmaster for crappy seats and there were better seats being sold for half the price the day of the concert.....I learned my lesson.
I usually just say 'f*** me'.

In '96 during the Atlanta Olympics, it was stressful and I needed to rewind. I went to a concert at the House of Blues. It was sold out.
I caught a roadie, slipped him a couple of $20s and he walked me right in.
Still one of my Top 3 shows I've been to.
If I have time, I just call the GM at the venue or call their manager.

This should be the default answer for everything.
well you are a famouse musician it`s no wonder they would treat you special. I`m sure if I called the venue GM my call would go direct to voicemail.
Fortunately REO Speedwagon concerts are never sold out. This allows me to go to as many shows as I want so I can practice Keep on Lovin' You. Someday I hope to serenade the girl of my dreams with it.

If you know me then you know I am no great musician. I was not a great runner either, just a friend of the near great or some times knowing the right people helps. My point was, never be too timid to ask.
In the situation the OP describes, I usually take it like a man:
I piss and moan for a couple of days, and hit something or someone.
Dumbass, do you know who Moe's Tavern is? If you did, you would kiss his ass. I may be biased but he scored me tickets to a concert recently that were very kick ass seats.
Cool guy and, at 19, I'm more than half his age.
