It's 5:30am here in Linz now. Yes I am in pain but I am going to run it as a training run.
Regarding Lamb of God, we found out what flight they were arriving on, and we met them at the airport with cold beer. They were very happy about this. Randy gave us his digits and we met up with them later at the hotel. It was 2:30am by this point. Randy wanted to see the seamy side of Bangkok, but all the bars and clubs were closed by then so we just hung out around Sukhumvit soi 4 and watched the late late night street scene and had some drinks and street food.
The next day, at the show, Randy said to message him when we got to the arena, so Randy himself came out to the lobby of the arena to find us and get us backstage. Of course he was mobbed by fans when he did this. We had some Thai food with them since the promoter had arranged for a nice buffet and tons of beverages of all kinds. They are a great bunch of southern guys to hang out with.
I've been to at least 200 metal shows in my life, including some really memorable ones like Metallica in 1985, Ozzy in 1982 and 1986, Judas Priest many times, but this one topped them all. L.O.G. was firing on all cylinders that night, and the song dedication was just a really special moment.
We met up back at their hotel after the show and of course Randy and a couple of the roadies wanted to go out again and we were able to hang out at soi cowboy for a couple of hours. Randy even ate some fried grasshoppers!
Very wild and memorable times!!
