Hi,
anybody have any experiences with performance levels dropping off dramatically (i.e. by 2-3 mins over 10km for a 30 min runner)after having had the common cold. This has happened to me a on a number of occasions, even if I take complete rest for a week or easy jogging for 20 mins a day.
Yes, I would expect to be slightly down on my performance having had the cold but not by this amount. I've done some research on this and come up with a possible condition called myocarditis or inflammation of the heart - anybody know anything or had experiences of this.
I added glutamine supplement to my diet and this seemed to do the trick. However, I came across a link describing the importance of selenium in the diet to this condition.
Anybody know anything more? Would appreciate the help.
