This is letsrun. Nobody here has ever had sex before.

It takes up loads of physical energy. That cannot be a good thing for racing. Working out the next morning after a wild night in the sack always feels horrible.

i always ran well the day after having sex - as long as i wasn't up so late i didn't get any sleep. helped me relax and fall asleep faster.

try it before some workouts and see how things work out for you, assuming you have a willing partner.

I had sex the morning of a marathon once and at the 24 mile mark I was wishing I had those 300 calories back.

Perhaps, if you're going to have sex the night before a race you should insist on doing as little physical exertion as possible. You can get away with this because you are "saving energy" for your race. Then just lay back and let her do all the work.

It’s good that you’re still horny. The sex may calm your nerves.

Never had a problem from the night before 8-12 hour's. Once took a shower with the wife 3 hrs. Before racing a 10K and my legs knew after the first mile that that was a mistake.

Lot of things have changed since this post was made 14 years ago.
