Snell definitely wants a rematch. But Liquori and Keino aren't interested. They're happy with their final results against Ryun.

You know this is fake because thereis no way Timmons would have anyone do steady state running. Now if he said 15 miles of intervals, I would say that is a classic timmons workout.

Ryun did do long runs under Timmons (10-15 miles). It's in "The Jim Ryun Story."

Well, of course it's fake; but Timmy certainly had athletes do steady-state running at various times of the year. Ryun averaged well over 100mpw for longish stretches of time, and a majority of that mileage was steady running.

Granting that you were just joking...

I don't necessarily agree with how Ryun was trained, but i don't think anyone should bag on Timmons. How many 3:51 guys have any of us coached--in the 60's no less!

Why wouldn't Ryun go after the world age-group record? He did it at 15, so why can't he do it at 64 (he'll be 64 this month)?

The only suspect part of all of this is that he'd work with Timmons, who is suffering from dementia. Maybe Ryun wants to coach himself and let Timmons just be an honorary coach.
