I was on a recovery run and there was this fairly old guy jogging so I decided to jog with him. We got to talking about running and he told me that although he's a just a jogger now,years ago he did a few marathons and his PR was 3.07 BUT he never drank water while running because he thought it would mess up his stomach.
Hypothetically, how much faster could he have gone? Let's assume this marathon was run in ideal conditions.
I'd say a conservative estimate would be 6 minutes faster, possibly more.
