It should be an entertaining 10k race at Stanford. You have 7 athletes that either have run uner 33 minutes or they are capable of doing so. The two favorites in the race are Lisa Koll and Blake Russell. Koll comes off a great indoor season and she is ready to challenge that sub 32 minute barrier. Blake Russell comes back from her 15k race five weeks ago. She ran 51:46 and came by the 10k mark in 34:21. Krisztina Papp Smear will be stalking the top two runners. Papp is a two time Olympian for Hungary in the 5000m. She has run low 32's for 10k and will be ready to outkick the top pair if the pace is too slow. Behind Papp we find Ilse Pol,Clara Gandt, the two Storage lockers and Walkon-in the-park. Pol and Gandt are solid 10k runners and could hit sub 32 on Saturday. The Storage sisters and Walkonen can break 33 minutes on a solid day. The Storage Lockers like to run together so that means they will race to the level of whichever Storage is having the worse day.
Look for the winning time to be in the range of 32:15 on Saturday. My top 10 looks like this:
1. Koll- 32:15
2. Russell- 32:22
3. Papp- 32:26
4. Pol- 33:10
5. Gandt- 33:19
6. Storage- 33:21
7. Storage- 33:22
8. Walkonen-33:26
9. Erdelyi- 33:29
10.Erdmann- 33:47
