Have you seen Run Like a Girl? That's pretty good. Those of us looking for books and movies about female runners can't be too picky. We (apparently) just need to be thankful for whatever we can get.
I've thought for years that someone needs to write a Once a Runner equivalent about a female runner, but the majority of the running nerds (or is it geeks?) tend to be guys, so they produce more of the running-themed books and movies about guys like themselves, or what they wish they were.
You could make a pretty good movie about Doris Heritage or a character based on her. I still think one of the best running books out there is The Silence of Great Distance: Women Running Long, which features Stephanie Herbst, but that book also focuses a lot on the Dark Side of women's running.
