What are the fastsest and Nicest Indoor Tracks in the US?
The Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. I mean it has to be, they're holding US nationals there. I would assume arkansas' track too.
Fastest, the wooden track they use at Reno, MJ set the indoor 400WR there.
Best, NY Armory, -R Lewis has a dodgy transition coming off the bends in the outer lanes.
arkansas, fast
Iowa State's Track, 300m track and fast.
I would say Armory and Fayetteville the 2 best, according to most and my own personal experience. The Reg does get complaints about the outer lanes and weird turn slope but its the same fast surface.
PG Center in Prince Georges Co. Maryland is really fast even tho its not banked. also it is a really nice facility all around. mostly used for high school meets, hosted the nike indoor classic the past couple years.
how about the olympic oval in Salt lake, over 400 yards, regulated humidity and temp. gotta be it
Is Iowa States track banked?
NAU 300m mondo
Central Missouri State University's Multi Purpose building and Track. Hands down-no questions!
300m track don't count . . . their oversized so obviously they're faster
The new Boston University track is tops in Boston - Reggie close 2nd followed by Harvard. Three banked facilities, how nice.
A high schooler just ran a 45.9 on idaho state's indoor track. Its at alt. and has a wood surface, but she owns some fast times.
Nebraska Lincoln's track is the best. a banked mondo track and the bank can be adjusted to be steeper for the sprints and lower for the distance events. It is also nice so they dont have to run the 60's down the middle of the infield and all the field events are then inside the track, good for watching. You would think they could hold some larger meets there.
Arkansas' track and Reggie Lewis Center are also good.
yeah, she is pretty fast
fayettville, penn st, armory, reggie in that order in my own personal experience. i have always felt the armory banks were too steep, just a personal thing i guess, i have buddies who love it. Penn St really has a wonderful overall facility and the track is lightning. Harvard was also pretty nice, maybe better than reggie.
The World record track for the men's 400m and men's 60m is in Boise Idaho. It is the ex-USATF track from Atlanta. How many tracks have two world records on their books...

I would like to see the objective evidence that an unbanked 300m track is slower than a properly banked mondo 200m track. Especially since many of the 300m tracks have tight turns in order to fit certain facilities. For example, the Moscow ID 300m track (rubberized) has consistently slower times than the Boise (mondo) 200m track (comparing same athletes).
The "oversized" designation should be thrown out in this day and age, since most of the ca. 150m "woodies" are gone.....

I just ran on the track in Reno last weekend and I can assure you it is NOT a fast track. Old, saggy boards, uneven surface. Maybe it was fast when MJ ran the record, but I'd have to say it was probably just MJ himself who was fast that day.
And didn't MJ run the record on the track that's in Boise now, anyway?!?!?!?
