Oregon 2nd...jordan ran out of gas, she looked like she had it!...to much to overcome....I wonder what TN's spilt was?

Not sure but the Tennessee girl had an 80 meter head start.
That was a great run! Very controlled way to reel in a front runner with a huge lead. Very mature. There was just too much to make up, though. She gave it all. Credit to her. 4:32 is ridiculous for a freshman.
You race that tactically stupid and you deserve to lose.
Right on, she gets the Prefontaine award of the day. Left nothing on the track even though she has 1 maybe 2 races tomorrow.

You say too much to make up when someone tries to catch up but fails too and loses....Hasay made it all up very quickly actually and took the lead for a good amout at the end. She just wasn't able to hold on as the other girl from Tenn clearly wasn't had not gone all out in the part where the ground was made up on her, and had more of a sprint left.
The Tennessee girl split a 4:40.32.
Slowwwww, just too much to make up.

She actually ran the perfect race to give her a chance to win.

Jordan ran well, but I got to give props to the young woman who anchored for Tennessee. She took the heat and pressure and refused to buckle. I believe she had about a 4 or 5 second lead when she got the baton, so she had something to play with. Nevertheless, I think she really handled the situation wonderfully.
No, if she had caught TN, sat on her and kicked, that would be been the perfect race. Catching her and swinging right by and trying to immediately gap her was re-freaking-tarded. Welcome to the big leagues kid.

Riiiiight. Like you're in the league she's in? Moron.]

i doubt jordan could've outkicked her if she had sat on her and run like mid-low-4:40s
She would have at least had a chance, as opposed to leading out for the TN girl and wasting energy.

Sorry you are a complete idiot. You think she would have outkicked the Tenn girl if she went slower? she couldn't even outkick the Tenn girl at the pace she was at. What do you think Hasay is? Her strength is her endurance. There's no possible argument to suggest she would have been in better shape if she slowed it down. There's a good chance she would have not even taken 2nd if she took that tactic.

Hasay = almost won NCAA title in first track champs of her career
You = criticizing her for it.
She led the TN girl out! Hasay was the rabbit for the last half of the race after using so much energy to put herself into a winning position. She obviously has incredible wheels, but she wasted so much energy setting TN up for the victory. You know, there's a reason why EVERYONE sits and kicks...

Give it up. Hassay did a great job, but the girl from Tennessee responded to the challenge. More power to both of them.
Also, the anchor from Gtown closed up on Hassay and was in the race until the final stretch. Her split couldn't have been much slower than Hassay's.

No she did not. It was a little over 4 seconds.

Is there a reason? you really are an idiot as the other poster said. How many guys sat and kicked in the mens DMR...did every single one of them win? Good thing Coe followed your advice, and let someone else lead instead of pushing the pace...You do know there can only be one winner yes? So the guy who finishes last in a sit and kick race, did he make the right decision? the guy who finishes 4th, 3rd, 2nd? Your logic is horrible.
Hasay would have had a worse chance of winning if she had slowed the pace. She guaranteed she got at least 2nd, and almost won. slowing it down would have left at least 3 girls to the end, and she isn't known for her short sprint wheels like you for some reason think.

I've seen 4:35.9 reported and that seems more like it given the margin at the beginning of the leg.
