I run for a college team and today, when I came to practice, my caoch told all the distance guys to meet on the track. We all expected an easy distance run since we did a workout yesterday. When we got to the track, he told us we were going to run 9 miles around the track at 6:30 - 6:40 mile pace. None of us could believe it. Our coach stood there the whole time and gave us our split for each lap. One lap, we wanted to see what would happen if we went too fast. We came through in 93 and he went apeshit. He started jumping up and down and yelling at us. He said that if we didn't slow down, he would pull us out of the meet on Saturday. On another lap, I was leading and I came throught about 1 second too fast he called me an immature little twit. Even the stupid-ass sprinters would laugh at us every time we ran past. It was the most boring run of my life. Running that pace on a track makes you feel like you're walking. After the run he lectured our team and threatened to do this on every easy day to make sure we went slow and didn't sprain our ankles. He also said he was going to drive around and check up on us periodically.
Does anybody else have a coach that does this?
