What is meant by "tying up?" What did JK mean when he said no "tying up" during preseason??
I think tying up might mean running to the point your form gets outta whack due to excessive fatigue but is this correct? please educate. thanks.

So if I run a tempo/progression and the last mile is in 5:20 (fast for me, I'm not very good) and to do it my arms just get a bit tense trying to gut up a 520 as opposed to a 530-545, is this tying up or no?(Or not quite tying up?)
And JK suggested that there are rare times when it's okay to tie up? When would these be? I believe he specifically mentions that you have to do a miniscule amt of some gut balls to the walls type workouts "if you're ever going to race well"
