Front page talks about Virgin being the only American World XC champ, but I'm pretty sure that Lynn Jennings won 2 or 3 World XC titles. No?

She won three, capping off that hat trick with the win in Franklin Park in Boston ...in 92 or 93 I think.
This was after the East African (particularly Kenya and Tanzania) had entered the realm. Granted, their women were not at the level of the men, but stil. Jennings was an absolute beast in xc.
brojos miss it again........sad.
also julie brown won a world xc title.
and eric hulst, thom hunt, bob thomas and rich kimball won junior titles.
Go easy on the BroJos, they can't help their stupidity.
Brojos are all the time talking BS about distance training and then they put BS on the front page, great!
It's like asking about the top ten american distance runners of all time and leaving off Doris Brown
they put it up because it is the 30th anniversary idiots

Speaking of idiots, people aren't complaining about Virgin getting recognition on the 30th anniversary, they are pointing out the error of stating that he's the only American to win a World Cross title. Get it?
This is pathetic. The Brojos and Employee #1 have sunk to a new low.
before today - we're idiots
during today - we're idiots
after today - we're idiots
c'mon, let's get some more insults flowing here

Tone it down people. We meant the only American male to win a World XC Championships.
Wait with the above sentence you could argue a male has won the junior championships so it's not correct.
So what we were referencing was the only American to win a men's World XC championship.
I think most people understood the point since men's and women's championships are completely separate races and separate sports.
If I said Arthur Ashe is the only African Ameriacn to win the US Open, I think most people would understand we're talking about men's US Open.
But we added (men's) to the front page to make it clearer.
Rojo and Wejo and Employee #1 may miss a few facts here and there...but no one is perfect.
They have the best running website on the web by far in my opinion.
Cut them some slack.
This was about Craig Virgin. Not Lyn Jennings. But she was a damn sweet runner too. You can't take anything away from her. But the post wasn't an either or.....

I just wanted to chime in that I love Lynn Jennings. I know she isn't some skinny little hottie like some of the running girls that all us guys fawn over but she was an awesome runner. For her to have not only won xc nationals but the World's too is amazing.

She was a US Champion at 10k in 1998 or 1999 at the age of 38 or 39 ... just amazing.
Didn't she marry the UPS guy that delivered her shoes?
I love that story (even if I got it wrong)
Why did Jennings suddenly quit? I remember reading an article about her in Running Times (i think it was in -97)
where she spoke about the marathon and how she wanted to dominate masters running, but she gave it up only a few years after that.

well how bout you get the picture of Kaki in your week that was article right..you know, the one that has a caption claiming he is david rudisha, even though he is wearing a Sudan singlet.

.
