This is why so many people dislike Oregon fans. Oregon is a factory that gets a lot of money thrown at them by Nike. Oregon then uses that money to attract the best track runners in the nation. These runners were already good at their various high schools across the nation and now they come to Oregon and the Oregon fans just eat it up. Claiming we are the best. Its easy to be the best when you get the best. You guys aren't that great and special. The O stands for Overrated.

6/10, after burners? I'd give it a 2/10 because you caught it so quick. But I do love how the troll threw Wheating into the "top high school talent" category. He ran what? A season or two of track and field?

On another note, dominating wins by both Wheating and Hasay. Not even close.

I say that because these types have continued to catch people, though maybe more and more are figuring it out so I'll downgrade my rating to 3/10!

agree. if oregon was going for the team title like they did last year, maybe run conf, but they had no plan on lollygagged the dmr, etc. not sure why vin did this as he could've given symmonds a run

and to the OP, lots of schools have these things called "scholarships". many of those same schools (and their coaches) take equipment from the evil nike. the coaches even take money (ask martin smith, he took plenty as a "nike advisor" over the years).

oh, and wheating's parents paid for his 1st 2 years at oregon.

are you joking? is oregon not planning to run a dmr? they have a fantastic one with greer, fleet and either wheating or acosta. hell they can run travis thompson on the 800, greer on the 1200 and fleet on the 1600 and have a strong shot to win.

anyway, a short trip to a great track to get in a mile for strength seems like a fine idea. he has plenty of time for US championships and i bet he'll have a late outdoors season followed by some races in europe this summer.

You are a truely pathetic human being. It's sad that all you hear is how Hasay will burn out, how Oregon will ruin her.....and then Oregon turns her into an even better runner, and it's all Oregon is only good because they get the best runners.....

People have been predicting Hasay's (as they did with blood) downfall for half a decade now, we should be thankful she's flourishing at Oregon.

--And of course you do not mention the 25 years when no one came to Oregon because of the difference in vision between Dellinger, Bowerman, Dellinger and Knight, Knight and Smith etc.

Oregon distance running, and Bowerman, inspired Nike's creation.

And, you know, other schools attract a hell of a good squad...Stanford (gets Nike money too), WA (women) and so many other schools.

Rupp was a fluke hometown talent that fell into the proper coaching hands. Believe me if Alberto could find or manufacture a Rupp a year for the sport, and for Oregon he would.

It isn't that easy, it isn't as easy as money and attraction.

Get a grip on reality. Oregon is still hampered by the corrupt monopoly of the NCAA and artificial scholarship

Vin is cautiously and wisely shepharding each athletes progress per their current health and fitness and any given time.

And this years's focus, is NOT indoors. Vin has repeated this in many media and video interviews you can find on the web.

Another reason to run the "B" squad on the DMR is to give the next tier guys a chance to get experience.

Yeah you're right, it is a totally level playing field. Oregon has the same advantage as other schools, yup you are right. They don't have superior facilities because of Nike, they don't have better coaches because of Nike, nope they have none of those. Everything is just by chance. The fact that Oregon didn't win outdoors last year shows how little they accomplish with so much that they have.

Then why was Wheating originally signed up for Indoors? Don't understand how this competition helps Andrew's development. This summer we'll hear, "oh, once he starts getting in good races, he'll develop the tactics", or something like that. Kenya will trot out another 20yr team at London.
