Adams State had 5 runners break 14:00 in the 5k last track season and just this weekend had Aaron braun (13:42)lead 4 other Adams guys at the Husky invite run under 14:09 (3 under 13:50)
Oregon has 5 4:00 minute or under milers now even with the absence of Rupp.
What's more impressive?
As much as i hate to admit it. It's Oregon. Breaking 4 minutes is A LOT harder than 14:00. Adams is very good though.

Though breaking 4 is harder than breaking 14, I think you have to take into account that one of these schools in d2. Given that I would say that Adams State's 5 is more impressive.
Misleading thread title, as it was 5 guys 14:06 or better. Huge props to Adams, but on paper 5 under 4 minutes is more impressive. Congrats to both groups of runners for an excellent weekend.
I agree that both are impressive. I really admire Adams State for what they are doing, and Oregon for what they are doing. These are the kinds of programs that are doing their part in bringing distance running and track and field back into prominence in the USA.
I think the sub 4 minute miles are more impressive, sub 4 usually translates to 13:45 for 5k if you are training for longer distances, but Adams State could prove to be an XC powerhouse in the future.

Nah they live too high. Everyone nose you cant run fast high, besides Alamosa is flat as a pancake.

and actually oregon probably has about another 3-5 who are just over 4 or at 3:45 for 1500. as mentioned on another thread, greer probably does it this year if he races one. not ripping adams state because they are as impressive as most top D1 schools for 5K marks (especially indoors). only stanford, oregon and ok. state could probably come up with substantially better if they put all their top guys in 5Ks.
no races= no times. you cant count last years marks. oh and oregon, osu and stanford could NOT put up better times than adams in the 5k, osu ran german in the 3000, his time=braun's time, colby lowe right there with 2 adams guys and no other osu guys were with the adams guys. havent seen any stanford times, not many oregon times in the 5k. adams state is the best 5k team in the nation right now period

and someone posted that centro is ineligible, which if thats true that is hilarious cause U of O is not a difficult school and also means he cant be used as evidence
Impressive - maybe.....but I remember when Oregon had 4 cats under 13:35 (and two of those were under 13:20) in the 5K. I think two of the them were named Salazar and Chapa, but then again names aren't important.
How about stanford with 4 guys under 4:00 as well and three this weekend (ALMOST)...none named derrick.
This weekend they had:
Ferris, Dylan Stanford 3:58.90$
6 Marpole-Bird, Justin Stanford 3:58.76$
4 Sullivan, John Stanford 4:00.02*
a few weeks back heath went 3:57 as well correct?
