Hey, guys, I am thinking about what workouts I should do in the next 2 weeks. I have a 3000m race and I want to win!!! (Er... or at least have a chance... or run a PR.. you know what I mean..) I train on my own.
I am doing 1 track workout a week and long runs of 16-18 miles and workouts of:
20 X 200m; 1:30 recovery
12 X 200m; :45 recovery
3 X (300m X 5; 1:00 recovery)
10 X 400m; 1:15 recovery
3000m race
1500m race
I did the faster stuff because I thought I'd do 1500m, but as it turns out I am better at the 3000m.
I know it's not much time, but I am curious what workouts you think would be good; I am thinking 600s or 800s? Are 1000s too hard? I don't want to be too tired for the mileage. I have other goals (longer stuff) for the year, but I want a good fast 3000, if possible.
