Marathon Racing Flat - Lunaracer 1 or 2, or Mayfly

    I'm looking to get a new marathon racing flat. I've run a marathon in the Mayfly and another in the original Lunaracer. I'm trying to decide if the Lunaracer 2 would be a good option or the Mayfly would be the way to go.

    I'm an efficient runner 6 feet 135 lbs.

    I like the fact that the Mayfly are so light but I was wondering if the couple of extra ounces that the Lunaracer 2 weights would do me any good or set me back in my next marathon.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    I'd never consider the Mayfly for a marathon. I really liked the Lunaracer I and ran my last marathon in them. I tried on the Lunaracer II and I don't like them as well, although I haven't really ran in them. I had to go 1/2 a size bigger in the Lunaracer II, FYI.

    Agreed. The Lunar 2's feel different - a little stiffer to me - than the original Racers. Train in them to see what you think before racing in them for sure.
