How fast are you anyway? I bet you're one of those 27:30 DI runners who automatically assume they're better than all of D3 because their school is BIGGER.

I noticed that the FASTEST runners on this board are among the most considerate and thoughtful posters. It's losers like you who imply that they're fast just because they go to a DI school (like the well-known runners) that bring this board down. Runners like you make me want to BLOW CHUNKS.

So why don't you go back to your DORM at your third-tier state university and stare at your poster of PREFONTAINE a little more. I'm sure he'd support what you're spouting.

this character obviously has no clue about anything. he's calling people posers and doesn't even know what the word means. "get real" reminds me of one of those middle school kids desperately trying to fit in by using a word he hard on the playground. a poser is someone prentending to be something they are not. how does todd mobley putting his training on the web consitute him beng a poser? don't even answer that question because you'll just be talking out your ass. todd was a xc all-american as a soph. he can do what he pleases. and tradition seems to help in cross country as well. i believe notre dame has finished in the top ten at ncaa's like 8 out of the last 10 years.

Posting your running log is the kind of thing that strengthens a running community. What I'm trying to say is that we need more of that sort of thing, and less of the general insults/ negativity.

So Get Real was wrong about some of his "posers." (I believe that would be "poseurs," actually). I have to say I'm just as tired of the insecure D3 people trying to generalize about DI as I am of the insecure DI people trying to generalize about D3. Either one claiming individual superiority on the basis of their school's athletic classification ends up sounding arrogant.

I thought the Runner's World one was funny, and thought that EITHER the "D1 that talk shit to D3" or vice versa would have been funny.

How about Gabe Jennings. No matter how much he loves himself, the truth of the matter is that he has only run 3min35 once, and then f#@ks around at 3min38-40 all year. And then has the ego, to state that he is truly world class, he can beat anyone on his day - and, taking a quote from Edmonton - he "saw the fear in El G's" eyes, before running 3min47 in his semi final - after scraping in as one of the slowest qualifiers for the semis anyway. That fool, with his converse retro head-band, prepostorous gotee, long, greasy machismo-mullett hair (by the way, does anyone know if his hair is long or short?) makes him the biggest poser I has ever seen.

ps, John Drummond is a poser - but at least he has got some game.

There are plenty of kids on D3 teams that could run D1 if they wanted to run full time. Instead, they have chosen a different college experience.

I would hate to be in your shoes, "Get Real." You're bitter as hell and you're still making grammatical mistakes the rest of us learned to fix when we were in fifth grade. Hit the books. Once you graduate, no one will care that you sucked for 6 years for a crappy D1 team.
