are they the best in the country?
3 guys running sub 148 indoor yesterday.
what other schools have shown promise so far?

UW could give them a run in the 4x800 (but not beat them) within the Big Ten, which is not a League Champ event, but the DMR will be interesting. They have the 600 as well as the 800 and mile and finishing speed is important in the Big Ten Mile, as is well known on this board). They have two guys who ran 1:50 on a flat track yesterday and that does not include the top new guy (fastest US HS 800 last year?). They also had two sub 1:20 in the 600m on the flat track as well a few minutes before.
You're not kidding they're good. This team has a legit chance at breaking one of the toughest records at the Penn Relays, that 7:11 4x800 by Penn State in the 80s.
Finals
1 Foster, Ryan JR Penn State 1:47.48A
2 Joseph, Moises Unattached 1:47.57A
3 Smith, Kyle Phoenix Athletics 1:47.92A
4 Loxsom, Casimir FR Penn State 1:47.98A
5 White, Dan JR Ohio State 1:48.26F
6 Dawson, Owen JR Penn State 1:48.97M
7 Boylan-Pett, Liam Unattached 1:49.07P
8 Williams, Lionel JR Penn State 1:50.15P
9 O'Conner, Theon SO Georgetown 1:51.04
And why was Sam Borchers running a 10 minute 2 mile? Was he doing an interval workout during the race? Isn't he another 1:47 800 guy?

In addition to these three, a fourth PSU runner in the same race ran 1:50. These four don't include Sam Borchers, who has run 1:48 I believe outdoors.

I wonder if they're still good because of their time on Squirrel Hill (which I assume is related to your screen name) or if that has changed under Beth.

Their success has much to do with Gondak and little to do with BAS.

Does Godnak know the way to Squirrel?

Sorry, sent message too soon. Meant to also ask if he knew the way to Julian as well. Ouch.
I understand that Gondak has the reputation of getting guys ready early, then they tend to fade later on in the season.
Nevertheless, still impressive to have two 1:47.xx, a 1:48.xx, and a 1:50 guy all in the same meet.
PSU may be mounting a challenge to one of the longest held records at Penn Relays.

They NEED to take a shot at the indoor world record of 7:13 set by Kenya.
They have a legit chance at getting it too.
Really really impressive
Nice Try - I guess when Dawson, Williams and Foster all PR'ed at the Big Ten, Regional or NCAA OUTDOOR meet last year, that is considered fading toward the end of the season.
Keep trying.
World Record...get the hell out of here, without Nick Carbone and Chris Ferry, these guys don't stand a chance.

You dont think they have 4 guys who can average a 1:48 split?
Please explain.
