I'm not exactly sure when my PF started but I believe that the start coincided with my switch to a lighter minimalist shoe and some barefoot running on grass. I'm now back to wearing my original Brooks Racer ST with Pinnacle Powerstep insoles and I feel much better, not 100% but maybe 90%. I'm also icing it, rubbing in Gold Bond foot cream, doing hip abductor exercises, using a wobble board while I work on the computer and walking a lot more. I doubt that the foot can take hills or speed right now but I can do all the distance I want to do. Minimalism is a great theory and some are able to benfit from it. However, most of us have been wearing clunky shoes forever and our legs and feet have adapted to the clunkers. A sudden shift to a shoe with little or no "support" will cause problems.
