Bairu is a stud. Hall gets all the press, as usual, and Simon steps up and hands it to him. Nice race Simon!
way to go Bairu, stick it to those Yanks!

dude f*** off youre an idiot
not a good day for hall though, even if it is just a tune up for the marathon...and ill echo the sentiment said plenty of times on this board that hall needs to skip a marathon and spend a fall or spring putting in either a good track season or focusing on a fast half...2 marathons a year can only be sustained for so long without falling into flatness and hall is showing it
where are results?
Without disrespecting Bairu, who is a fine runner, he deserves little credit for "beating Hall" today. Honestly, I understand it's one of those "Any Given Sunday" scenarios, but Hall's time shows how far off his game he was. Kudos to Bairu for the win, but don't assume he's on the level we should expect from Hall.
And don't assume Hall is on the level you've been mistakenly expecting from Hall. He became the Great White Hope based on a ridiculously small number of top-class performances, but for over 2 years now it's looked like he has peaked. Hall is done. You kids need to focus on Ritz and Rupp (sounds much cooler too... Ritz & Rupp... the new Cheech & Chong).
I didn't see any results in this race for Ritz OR Rupp, though I admittedly agree with your principles. :)

What the f*** are you talking about?
Those L.A. snots suck. Hall, Meb, Dawn, Deena, Allyson, Shawn, Clay, Kerron, Joanna, Maurice all suck. Eugene is the only Track Town USA. Bairu ROCKS !

It was that Ritz "is done" and "has peaked" at least as many time as it has been said about Hall.
bump
LOL, letsrun.
I don't know if Hall was running this race to win or as something else, but here he is getting slagged by people who I am sure have no idea if he was running it at goal marathon pace, as some athletes do or he is training through it.
Credit to Bairu that is not his fastest time either. So I am not taking anything away.
...unless someone actually knows what Hall was up to - maybe you shouldn't slag him.

What ever you are probably the same douche that was bagging on Ritz and saying that Hall was the next big thing. Oh and by the way Rupp just got smoked by a freshman walk on from UNM that no one has ever heard of in a time that wouldn't win state. Everybody has good days and bad and everybody has good seasons and bad. Last I checked Hall still had the 41st fastest time in history in the marathon can any other American still running claim better?
At least Hall isn't imported talent, he's home-grown. And he won't make anyone forget about Ben Johnson.

If you look at the splits from competitor.com Hall and Bairu were together at 10mi. That means Bairu beat Hall by 1:21 over the last 3mi. Not a great day for Hall.
Kelsall is a lame, stupid, sycophantic canuck.

I don't care if he ran 110 miles this week, Hall couldn't even run what he was hitting for the half split in a marathon not long ago.
Even Jesus wearing rose colored glasses can't say anything good about Hall's latest turd.
