How many miles a week did you run in high school, and what were your 400, 800, 1600, and 3200 times...as well as what even did you consider your best?

Mile- 5:05 Sophomore...Never ran it again
18:50 5k
between 25-30 miles in season and maybe 35 on my own in summer between junior/senior year. Otherwise maybe 20-25 in the summer.
we did a lot of speed work which never burnt me out but based on my 5k time i had no aerobic base but i had decent leg speed
400-53
800-2:01
1600-4:33
3200-10:03
Mileage:
fr-15
so-20
jr-20
sr-30
Smokin the bleezy was my best event
All time high in high sschool was 56mpw with most weeks in the 30s. First race in high school I ran 2:47 for 800m and came in like 20seconds behind 2nd to last, dead last. Got my time down to low18s and 11flat 3200m.
Got more serious bout runnin, ran for a D3 school and ran 27:55, still really crappy compared to what most here run but I can still win some low key road races which is not bad for someone of my talent.
Track 12-15 mpw
Cross country 20 mpw
400 - 54
800 - 2:02
5k - 17:32/3 idr
Best event was the 800
I think I was around 50-60 tops my Senior Year.
400: 57ish
800: 2:06
1600: 4:31
3200: 9:53
Those were all big PRs from Junior year.
junior 20-25mpw
400-53
800-2:04
1600m-4:54
5k-18:56
800m best event
got up to 70 for a couple weeks senior year
800: 212 (rarely ran it and never fresh)
1600: 448
3200: 9:57
never ran the 4, injured literally every cross season, i think I ran around 19:30 my sophomore year before I started training, mileage couldnt have been over 25
ran about 30 ish all through, pbs were 4:11 for 1500m and 9:05 for 3000m and I think 24:high for 7km xc...
since went 65 miles for first yr college n ran 26low for 8km xc and 33low for 10km...mileage defs helps... looking forward to a track meet
I ran on average 60-65 miles a week with the highest maybe at 75. I ran 1:53, 4:08, 8:52.
maybe 25 miles per week.
800 1:56
1600 4:21
3200 9:43
best event: soccer
well aren't you special...one of the baller runners that doesn't care a lick. we all <3 you..
~70mpw starting sophomore year. I ran a bit higher and a bit lower, but most weeks were around 70 if I wasn't injured or building up mileage. This was off doubles 5 days a week, usually 3-4 in the morning and 7-10 in the afternoon with a 12-14 mile long run one day (either Saturday or Sunday) and a recovery day of 5 miles. In track the long run was scratched some weeks due to meets and I would just do a 4-8 mile run or after my races.
HS PRs
400 - 55.x, but I only ran two 4x400s in my entire HS career, neither of which were when I was in good speed shape.
800 - 1:56
1600 ~ 4:12 adjusted for altitude
3200 ~ 9:13 adjusted for altitude
5000xc - ran sub 15:30 on a legit course at >5000ft elevation. xc times are hard to compare though.
I considered the 1600/mile to be my best event, but I really liked xc as well. Looking back I have no regrets about the mileage I was running. The intensity of my training was what got me. I think almost any HS boy can handle 50mpw bare minimum, though I wouldn't recommend many going over 80mpw. Most hs kids aren't running shit for miles, so anyone running 50mpw or more will have a huge advantage, especially in the 3200 and xc.

Exact same scenario as this guy except I ran 9:45. I had the exact same PRs for the other distances.
Didn't run more than 10 mpw through fresh-sophomore. 20-30 Junior and 40ish Senior. Didn't have a coach, so I had to coach myself.
400 - 64 (800m split) - Still haven't broken 60, though I probably COULD now.
800 - 2:17
1500 - 4:32
5000 (no 3000 for Senior Boys) - 17:55
7k XC - 25:00
Man I had no leg speed.
I would run a lot in the summer (jr and sr years at least), but my coach hardly had us do any volume in season. He loved hammering ridiculous workouts like 24x400, 30x200, w/ very little rest. Probably 45 mpw peak, 35 average during the season
PRs:
400- :56
800- 2:02i
1600- 4:39.5
3200- 10:06.9 (jr year)
3 mile xc- 15:59
Not sure what my best event was...fairly well rounded. I'm a better distance guy now, but our training didn't do much to bring it out back then
To be honest, I always enjoyed and cared about running in HS, but, and this was probably based on my track coach's personality, no one directed or motivated me to give it more or equal attention to soccer. So I kept playing soccer year-round.
My top week in HS was 80 miles, but it included a 20 miler, which I only did maybe 2-3 times. Most long runs were 12-14. I probably averaged in the 50s overall, but was in the 60's a lot and forays into the 70's were common. In-season we did a lot of quality, maybe closer to 40-50 a week, but my numbers there were supplemented by 20 miles a week in the mornings (I religiously ran 4 miles before school). Minus the morning runs, I probably would have run 25-30 a week in-season.
PB's:
440: never competed at the distance
880: 1:57 (relay split)
1 mile: 4:19
2 mile: 9:14 (9:17i)
3 mile xc: 14:45
Obviously 2 miles was my best event and the indoor 2 mile my best single effort, considering it was run on a dusty dirt track.
Personal Bests:
High School
400m - 1:05 in a "C" team 4x400m relay for HaHAs
800m - 2:23 in a "B" team 4x800m relay for HaHAs
1600m - 5:14 indoors, lost to some girls
3200m - 11:02
5000m - 18:26
College walk-on, showed up 1st day XC in best shape of my life and never told my coach my HS times because I knew he'd kick me off the team if he found out, started running a TON more
5K - 16:36
8K - 27:55 on a fast course
Did I improve a decent amount?
HS BESTS:
400 (relay split) - 56? Always after 1mile and 2mile
800 (Relay Split) - 2:04 -- Run only one time.
1600m - 4:36 -- After 3200m
3200m - 9:42
CC- 16:00 5k --
CC Mileage- 70-80 summer and early season. 50-60MPW rest of the season
Track- 40 miles/week
3200m was best track event. CC was my best overall however.
