Lets hope it happens.
I can't imagine Johnson winning, even if the race is only 60yards.
I'd pay to watch it though.

Chris Johnson ran a 4.25 40. Even hand timed that is very, very fast. If its on the grass it could actually be a good race, although Bolt should win comfortably. Just a pay day for both
So someone who does not run competitively believes he can beat the reigning world record holder in his prime?!

Read the article. Johnson wanted a short race (60 yds or less). Makes sense. One would figure his best shot would be a short race since Bolt is relatively slow out of the blocks.
I am sure someone can find Bolt's splits for the first 60m to see what kind of time we are talking about.
I think Bolt is afraid of losing.
Bolt's pr guy has already said this is not going to happen, at least according to the Jim Rome Show yesterday. I'd love to see it, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Incorrect.
If the race was 11 yards, Johnson might win.
Bolt has nothing to gain by doing this. If he wins, great, the world record holder beat someone who doesn't focus on sprinting. No surprise. But if he loses, he sets the entire sprinting aspect of track backwards a few decades in terms of respect.
i looked it up chris johnson has personal best's of
10.50 for 100 meters.
21.30 for 200 meters.
these times were from 5 years ago, trindon holiday of LSU has run 10.00 and jeff demps of florida has run 10.01 so it appears chris johnson is not even the fastest football player.
being what his personal best's are and taking into account he has not improved on these times, he should stop calling out usain bolt and tyson gay and darvis patton, etc. and he should challenge shelly ann-fraser and carmelita jeter and allyson felix, who if he trained for track would at least have a chance against.
Where do you get the idea Bolt is slow out of the blocks?
Looks like 10.38 according to this so he might have a shot at Bolt if he works on his start.
I'd like to see it just because Bolt would absolutely obliterate him, which would probably help sprinters gain a little respect. You hear these pro basketball and football players talk big all the time, but they couldn't do shit on the track, at least not compared to the world's elite. Didn't Walter Dix run a 4.0 40 last year after one of his workouts? I remember watching a video of it but can't recall the time for sure. I actually want to say 3.9, but that just seems too damn fast. Anyone remember?

the 10.38 chris johnson ran on april 16th 2004 in winter park was wind aided, i should have metioned that, but 10.50 legal or 10.38 wind aided he has no business calling out bolt.
i found this of dix running a 3.75. cant confirm it though.
this is a joke
Bolt ran the first 60m of his WR 100 in 6.31. Check it out at http://berlin.iaaf.org/mm/Document/Development/Research/05/30/83/20090817081546_httppostedfile_wch09_m100_final_13529.pdf
So Bolt runs 4.64 through the 40 on his fastest race ever whereas Johnson runs 4.2. That is a huge difference. You could park a bus b/w that. You guys are crazy if you don't think Johnson has a chance at 60 meters. 100 prob not, but 60 I would bet on Johnson.
You guys don't get it. First, Bolt had to react to a gun. Second, Bolt does not reach top speed until around 60 meters because he is in DRIVE PHASE. Whatever his 40 yard time was in the 100 meter world record was done completely while in drive phase. On the other hand, Chris Johnson wants to reach top speed as soon as possible since he only runs 40 yards. Bolt would beat Johnson at any of the discussed distance. Football players are too arrogant to understand that they may not be the best at something. This is like comparing apples and oranges. Bolt is much faster.

You're confused for so many reasons, and you're about to find out how...
They react to a gun? That's why Bolt is .4 slower? In the 40, you have to react to someone saying go. Saying go takes longer than shooting a gun, idiot. Apples and oranges is right.
