A friend brought me a pair while he was teaching in Japan. I know that I will never race at a level to use these. Size 12 US.

What distances are those flats meant for?
I did not run in these, so I have no personal experience with them. They are very light, but I've seen photos of some of the top marathoners using them.
I just bid on them........
look exactly like the new streaks
I am VERY surprised that you could actually find those in Japan. I've never seen race flats in Japan over size 11.0 US.
Anyone know what the weight is on those compared to the Mayflys?
One blog that I came across said the Spider R weighed in at 5 ounces. I have the tags that came with the shoes, but they are written in Japanese, so I can only go by what others say about these shoes.

Really? The new Streaks have a full rubber outsole and don't use any flywire in the upper. And it has a little bulkier midsole. They don't look anything like them to me.
They look a lot closer to the Katana than the Streak III.
Definitely more like the Katana than the Streak in terms of sole. The Streak is listed as weighing in at 7 ounces. The Spider R is significantly lighter. I'm not sure of the Katana's weight.
I saw a pair of shoes on ebay a while ago called the Nike Speed Racer(?) that looked the most similar to the upper and heel collar of the Spider R.
The Katana was in the 5-6 oz. range

I found that the Mayflys were 4.8 ounces. These are just over that at 5.0 ounces.
Just to clarify something about these shoes. These are the Spider R (racing) not the Spider LT (lightweight trainer). This distinction is clearly indicated on the box as well.
Anybody have a pair of these in 8.5-10.5? Id be willing to pay well or trade for them. Email me if you do.
To those who have asked, yes I will ship overseas, but please contact me to get shipping costs.
I'm selling Matumbos (only 1 pair left) and Victorys on ebay right now for $80. If you're size ten you may be able to save $30.
Last day.
Bumped for the last time; 9 hours remaining.
