Ritz would definitely do better out of five 5k races in a row. He is 3rd in the world for the half marathon, and has much more endurance then Lagat, who has to jog most of even one 5k to have a chance to kick at the end of it. But when the pace is slow with 400 kick at the end, it's not really a 5k.
That is the backwards lazy T&FN ranking, so they can rank lazy U.S. runners and give them a chance. Now we have Ritz, who goes for it, and the same old lazy buggers have no appreciation of this. Oh wow, the pace was too fast - for you - he can't be that good.
