All three of these guys are running their debut marathon at NYC. Who will turn in the best performance? Will any of them finish top 5?

Meb will have the best marathon (3rd place), followed by Schiebler (5th), than Carroll (8th). Jon Brown will win.
Mark Carroll
Carroll-Keflizighi-Schiebler, in that order.
MC and MK in top 5, JS in top 10.
NO ONE will beat a fit Tesfaye Jifar.
Jon Brown has a better chance of winning the Lottery. If there were only 4 people in the race, he'd still finish 4th. He's a moaning, grumpy old git who thinkgs he's far better than he is.
all in the top ten. meb over carroll.
I agree. I don't see any scenario in which John Brown wins. Along with the obvious candidates like Jifar, Rop, and Japhet Kosgei, people seem hot on Stefano Baldini. And don't forget Hendrik Ramaala, who said he could run 2:06. Not that anyone believes him, or that he could do it in New York.
Isn't Carrol a sub 1:50 800 guy. what the hell is he running the marathon for? and hes like 3:52 in the mile.
Speculation in the Providence Journal was "going for the
Irish national record" 2:09 and change by John Treacy.

Last time I checked, Geb had run like 1:48 and 3:48
I think you are all selling Shiebler short, but most Canadians think that everyone discriminates against them. (I am not anti-Canadian, I even have some Canadian friends ;) )
Based on Carrol's 1:03 in Central Park 1/2 marathon all alone I would say that he can run under Tracey's record.
My order would be Carrol, Meb abd Sheibler (darn, I dissed the Canadian just like everyone else)
BF
4th in the olympics ain't too bad.
indeed - plus 4th in the Commonwelath Games at 5k, 4th in London Marathon, 4th at Europeans over 10k...
Carroll...because he's Irish.
Browny 2.08!!
Brown pull Schiebler most of the way(by his choice or Jeff's I'm not sure which)then Jeff will pull away over the last few miles.....not to win however....3rd for Jeff, 4th for Jon(just to keep "Bazza" happy!). [You do know these guys know each other and have trained together in the past?]
Rumour has it that Scribbler ran a controlled 28:24 time trial a couple of weeks ago.
rumor has it I ran 3:41 in the mile in windy conditions last night in mexico city.
