No one has ever claimed that Coe ran 100 miles per week. All agreed that Coe ran more than reported. What's so difficult to understand? End of story.

but I read somewhere he only ran 30 mpw, so it must be true.
Are you guys talking about the fat butler in Family Affair.?
bump
I would have to say that from reading the posts of some people who should have a pritty good idea on the Coe Milage issue. I imagen that he ran more then he stated but less then people think. Maby 75-85 mile in the winter and less at peak times. That is still less then what most people have done who have run up to his level, so it really changes not looking at the key parts of his training for tid bits.
A thing I have found is that runners and there coaches often times forget parts of there training. Or rember things a little diffrent then they where. I rember reading that Lyidard thought some of his runners where doing more then they where, and I think that Ceo did not rember some of what he did.
We should keep in mind that in ''Better Training for DisRunners'' Coe's progams for 3-5k guys are all around 90-100 miles a week at the peak base phase. And intresting also is that Lyidard now in his books feels that 100 miles a week is all that need be run. And if you can run more goog but it is not really needed to get to the top. This would reflect that at level these two guys have simmlor ideas as to what is important. It is to bad that no-one has got them in a room and asked them to share there feelings.
