I guess he didn't raise enough money this time.
George explains it all:
He had some rockin' 4 x 800 teams for awhile.
If I could be one tenth the man Oral was, I will be going to heaven. Oral was a great man. He helped feed over 75 million people and gave college educations to 19 million. RIP Oral Roberts.
He told people to put their hands on the TV screen and he'd heal them through the television.
Oral Roberts lived in hell all his life, but worked hard and was finally able to afford to live in the undisputed Track and Field Capitol of the World, Los Angeles (with medals from the Olympics, IAAF Outdoor WC, and top marathons, to prove it). His wife died in Southern California in 2005. Oral Roberts died in Newport Beach, CA, on December 15, 2009.
"Oral Roberts, Pentecostal Evangelist, Dies at 91 "
New York Times headline identifies him as a Pentecostal. Oral Roberts has been a Methodist since 1968.

Maybe, but you won't find many Methodists claiming to be healers (if any). So he may have claimed to be a Methodist, but he was preaching Pentecostal so the Times was 100% spot on.
Are Catholics who support abortion really Catholics?

I always found that curiously odd. I mean he built a hospital out in Tulsa. Why? If he can heal them by touching them with his hands, why build a hospital? Just give the man a chair. Line people up and let them come to Oral one by one.

No.

Depends on what canon you subscribe to. Infallibility of the Pope is what the abortion doctrine is built on, not necessarily the doctrine Catholicism was founded on.
I was raised UCC which is Calvinist. Pretty hard core stuff if you follow the canon to the letter. Jim Baker was UCC and it would be pretty hard to justify selling condos at a water park as a spirituality cleaning action under that canon.
In any case a good Methodist (or Calvinist) would recognize that claiming to have the ability to heal using God's powers puts you on par with Jesus Christ and that's considered heresy. Catholics are somewhat more lenient (ironically) and consider it a miracle that makes you worthy of sainthood. You have to take into account that Catholics also used to auction off salvation to the highest bidder, which isn't much different that what Oral Roberts and Jim Baker used to do.
So, if you're a Catholic that supports abortion you can be excommunicated but if you heal people on TV for money you can be canonized.

And if you're Catholic, you subscribe to the teachings of the Catholic church. Which means if you support abortion, you aren't really Catholic. The church has been extremely clear on this. There is no debate.

So is claiming one man on earth (the pope) is the intermediary to God.
I think people should be free to support or not support human reproductive medical procedures or not, it's really up to each person to decide for themselves. The problem is when assholes in mythological sex cults like the Catholic Church don't mind their own business.
What year was that anyway? That was the golden age of crazy televangelists: Swaggert, Jim and Tammy Faye, Dr. Gene Scott.
Then Oral comes on and says God will take his life if he does not raise X million dollars.
Didn't he also claim to see a 900 foot Jesus in Tulsa, or did Sam Kinnison just make that up?
OR was the type who would put his hands on you, say you were cured and then ask for a million dollars. No fool he.
he had a dopey accent but was actually a smart guy. he sounded like an auto parts store clerk or the guys at oil changers.
