So I got a pair of nike free and I was wondering if you're suppose to wear it sockless to get a better feel. They are a lot different from what i remember, i had the oldest version when they first came out, but i got the new one and they seem to hug my fit a lot more closely. Also can ppl who pronate run with neutral shoes? bc the nike frees are neutral.
I have a few pairs of the free 5.0 and they are a great shoe. However, wear socks with them because you will quickly get blisters if your putting in good mileage with them. Also, there isn't a whole lot to them so they wear out more quickly than other trainers. I've already gone through a pair in 2months. Lastly, if you pronate you are more likely to become injuried but they do offer a certain level of support for a lightweight trainer
There was a time you could wear ALL your running shoes sockless. NOW, the shoes are loaded with junk & take a long time to get broken in.
Some of them are like work boots.
Even the late Larry Olsen agreed with that assessment, I used to buy shoes from him.

WEAR THE NIKE FREE'S SOCKLESS IF YOU PREFER. I'm pretty sure the new version of frees are meant to be worn sockless, as the whole inside of the shoe is quite smooth and seamless. I wore these shoes in the summer, while routinely putting in 70+ MPW in them sockless, and I was fine.
But if it get's cold where you're at, then I would suggest to wear socks. I wore them sockless the other day, and my feet about froze off, but when it's nice out go for it.
I often wear them sockless, plus I take out the insole. I also try to do without the rest of the shoe whenever possible.

I ordered the Nike Free 5.0 online and got them in the mail, I always wear socks with shoes since my feet sweat a lot so I figured I do the same with the 5.0s. When I got them I realized they didn't fit when I tried to wear them with socks, and I lost the receipt so I couldn't return them. Since I was stuck with them and didn't have another pair of shoes to wear I wore them without socks. They're actually pretty comfortable but they stink pretty bad and since they're my only athletic shoe I wear them everyday to school and work. When I'm wearing them I love them but if I'm in gym class or at a friend's house and have to remove them then it's kind of embarrassing but I don't have a choice.
