What's she gonna do, anyone know?
Look no further than Jay Johnson's departure from CU if you want to know how well Washington is going to do post-Strong. The rest of the Pac-10 is over the moon.
Speed of the bus as she went under it?
Are you sure she got thrown under the bus? Kelly Strong is an amazing person, and she knew that she needed to get off that bus before it broke down. She can get a job anywhere she wants. It's too bad that people's egos sometimes get in the way of simply admitting that success has been the result of the hard work of someone elso. I wish Kelly all the success she deserves, and will undoubtedly achieve, at the next level.

They won't hire a man.
Is that wrong?
If the situation were reversed would you lament that a woman wouldn't be hired to coach a men's program?
What is the real reason she left? Husband?
One of the reasons why Kelly was so successful was because she is a woman. I know for a fact that Oregon hired a woman XC/distance coach to get competitive again with Washington for recruiting young distance/XC runners. GM now has a real problem, in my opinion. He has to overcome reputation in trying to lure the right coach to take over the talent that Strong brought in, and stay competitive in the Pac 10.
7 years is a long time to be an assistant.
Not sure what you are talking about. I have seen Metcalf give Strong the credit in every interview since the pac10 last year. 8 years is a long time to be an assistant in T&F. The money sucks and the hours long. She leaves with the team in great shape and a great recruiting class coming in-maybe the best yet.
what recruiting class?

I am wondering who the new recruits are. From what I have been hearing there are virtually no new female distance recruits committed to the University for next year. Do you have any names, accomplishments, etc. for these new recruits?
Megan Goethals.

That seems to answer the question, doesn't it.
Goethals Nov 5th
"But she’s already narrowed her choices to Washington, Georgetown and Michigan State, with official visits to the latter two schools yet to take place."
I believe NLI day is February 3. Until then, nothing means anything--and especially in a case like this where a signficant player has stepped out of a role she formerly held.
Yeah I didn't think Goethals had chosen yet. I knew UW was one of the options though.
Goethals is 100% going to Washington. I wish I could tell you how I know, but it is more important to stay anonymous.
With the long legs Kelly Mac has I'm not surprised she ran for ASICS.
I like the chances for Georgetown and Michigan State better than Washington. At Michigan State, she would be much closer to home. Visiting Michigan State and Georgetown last is always an advantage to those schools, since the last impression is usually the decision maker. Also, with Kelly Strong now history, I cannot imagine her going to Washington.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
