I think it's great that the NCAA system can give all kinds of runners a chance to compete.
Lots of people resent the "building a team out of Kenyans" - Alabama, Auburn, UTEP. However, is Oregon's loading up on a bunch of studs - Rupp, Kiptoo-Biwott, Acosta, Centro, Puskedra, Mercados, etc. any different? If a school has money and scholarships, go after the best runners.
People don't complain much about Providence's influx of Irish runners...no different from Alabama's great team.
Let people run - Rupp, Solinsky, McDougal, Hall, Ritz, Dobson, Rohatinsky, Alcorn, Perry, Curtis are recent Americans (in the letsrun sense - white, born and raised) who have won 1 or more NCAA titles. Just run!
