Does any one have any insider knowledge of the training and preparation used by the few runners who have run sub 6:40 for 100km or equivalent? (eg Don Ritchie, Bruce Fordyce, Eric Seedhouse, Simon Pride...)
I believe this select group had to experiment and perfect their training largely by themselves. Info on these pioneers is hard to find, and gathering a comparison together of their approaches would surely be interesting and, for me at least, very useful! (I plan to race 100km in 2010)
Specifically, I'd love to find out the changes they made compared with their marathon training eg:
1. Key sessions/training that worked, and didn't work.
2. Fueling stratagies that worked/didn't work, for teh build up and during the run.
3. Anything else!
