Seems that some guys are headed back to Brevard to do some training (Joe Gibson and Jeff Cambell). There are some good runners still in the area (Randy Ashley, Bill Baldwin, and others). I remember a some rumbling of an effort to get this place to be a training center. Is that a dead issue? This seems to be a great place to train (small town, tons of trails, a great track, decent weather, great hills).
i have heard the saem thing. i talked to jeff about two weeks ago and i believe he is possibly considering that move. however, i don't want to put words into his mouth. i am also considering the move and wondering what kind of group will be there. housing costs, things of that nature. i know zap fitness is around the blue ridge as well but i think brevard is farther south. lets keep this post up top for a few days. i am still interested if the living is reasonable and the people are serious.

Believe me when I say I did not mean to leave him off the list. I was just trying to make a point about there being good runners in the area. Chad is the coolest pale guy with an orange flame tatoo on his leg I know! Running with that dude got me in shape years ago.

If you can find a job in the area, Brevard is a runners paradise. The trails are fantastic there

Jeff hasn't moved back yet, but he is doing so next week. Joe isn't living in Brevard, either. The only ones mentioned above in Brevard are Bill and Chad, the others live in Asheville. Keith Brantley lives in Asheville now, too.

Oh Asheville is so far away! These guys can possible train together (have in the past) and create a good running center. What has been the attraction to Asheville? Better trails? jobs?

Brantley- this dude is all kinds of weird! Use to have quite a set of wheels.
Keith Brantly is hardly the Thinking Woman's Choice. Guy has the attention span and intellectual capacity of a flea. Not to mention he is serious used goods what with several failed marriages. Nope. Peveto, even though he is a husband and father and all that boring stuff, is still the man.
A Tale of Two Cities - close, but so far away. Asheville has the jobs - Brevard much better for running.
Don't forget about Thomas Cason, who still has some competing left in him.

Yes I am moving back to Brevard. I have always loved that place and I am looking forward to hitting the Trails again. Joe,Randy,Chad,Bill and myself will be hooking up for a bunch of runs together.If anyone is ever interested in coming down and training there let me know. It is a really cheap place to live and you can get some part time jobs in the area. Asheville is only 25 min. away. if you need to do other work there. Zap fitness is about 1hr30 away. The track in Brevard is brand new and plenty of streams to soak the legs in after every run.
I am leaving the Hanson Brooks program after a great three years. I feel that it is time for me to let some younger guy come in and take advantage of the great program that Kevin and Keith have set up. From there Families,our Manager Don Jackson for is dedication to being at every run to cheer us on,even at 6:00am for indoor workouts in Canada,and of course for the community support that is amazing here in Michigan. This is what makes this Family team a success.
I am heading back to Brevard because that is where I want to settle and end my running days there, where they began as a Professional. You have not seen the last of me. There are more World Teams to make.
Good luck to all my training partners at the Trials. I wish I was there. I know you guys are ready. Kick some ASS!
