I buy all my clothing, except shoes from Goodwill. They sometimes have a little section with new socks, and underwear, and I buy dozens of them. Does anyone else shop goodwill?

Or you could buy a 7 pack of socks or underwear for $5 at Walmart.
They have some pretty nice warm up style pants for $10.
And pretty nice Wells Lamont gloves for less than $1.
I also like the $8 polyester shirts.
My local Value Village is almost never less than this, but there are some rare finds like a brand new Sugoi shirt for $5. I never make it down to the Goodwill though.
Are these clothes that people have run around in already? I buy lots of stuff second hand on ebay but never tights that have rubbed against someone elses butt and sweat and all that...
Walmart Champion line is super cheap
I ran in the same down jacket that I got for $3 at a thrift store for over 10 years. I would wear the down jacket with long johns with my shorts over the top of those. That was my running uniform all winter for over 10 years. I have thrift shop sweatshirts (no writing on them) for the warmer days.
Then my wife bought me a gore-tex jacket and some insulated tights for winter.
I wear them, but I feel so rediculous.
I got three new singlets and three new shorts and three new pair of racing flats two weeks ago at the Detroit Marathon. I could've got three new pair of socks, but I didn't want to take the risk of catching athletes' foot.
I love Goodwill, Value Village, etc. for what good deals you can get - people give away things that they've rarely, if ever worn. And many stores get overstock items, it is brand new. If you frequent these stores enough you get good at distinguishing what's nearly new and what shouldn't be be touched with a ten foot pole. Happy shopping!
A woman's perspective: Eeewww!
