The thing about Mottram was that he wasnt just the white imposter hiding in the pack letting the others work, he would go to the front with a few laps to go and try to hurt the africans, rather than just survive for as long as he could. I am yet to see any other white boy in modern times do that.

Mottram ACTUALLY BEAT BEKELE. He didn't lose to him by so or so seconds. He wasn't gaining on him and still lost like someone we all know. He actually beat one of the greatest if not the greatest distance runner of all time. So all you Americans should stop disrespecting Mottram.

keep it honest; Mottram beat a very relatively tired Bekele. Compare their seasons leading up to that race.

Dont get me wrong. I'm one of Mottram's biggest supporters. I just like to keep things honest and legitimate.

If you consider an competition where you are competing against national teams from countries such as England, Kenya, New Zealand and Canada is a local event, then that's a new definition of the work local.

The 2006 Commonwealth Games 5000m was won in sub 13, buster ran sub 13 for 2nd - not bat for an unimportant championship

he ran a pedestrian 27.34 so a sub 27 is a lock if he regains his fitness.
