They are cool and trendy until you see the way they are made/processed and the technology that is/isn't behind them.
I think this accurately describes today's running shoe. What do you say?

Hamburgers aren't cool or trendy and there isn't any technology behind them.

Yes, hamburgers are so cool and trendy.
What?
Let me rephrase that for the remedial learners of LRC whom all decide to post in the same thread.
Hamburgers are good and tasty like running shoes are cool and trendy but when you see how each is made and what is behind them, it will make you queasy for spending money on these goods.
Cows are fed a bunch of genetically-altered grain, shot up with numerous chemicals, stuffed into feed lots with millions of other cows and the attendant fecal matter, then brutally murdered so a bunch of selfish, small-minded humans who have deluded themselves into thinking they are at the top of the food chain can eat them, get even fatter, drive up health insurance premiums, and sabotage the very existence of their species via heart disease.
All that sound reasonable you poof?
I know all these facts and still love eating hamburgers.

running shoes are not cool nor trendy.
Running shoes are like hamburgers: 4 ounces is about right, even as they've been grossly inflated for uncouth American consumers the last few decades.

Yeah I don't think running shoes are like that.

Settle down, Beavis. You're the one asking a nonsensical question and even formulating that poorly.

I beg to differ.
He is simply comparing the "behind the scenes" of each industry and how they are alike. How aspects of the meat industry have been known to be sketchy... same as the running shoe industry according to some people.
Am I right?
Such a simple question yet such simple thinkers.
(Actually just too many high schoolers on this board. They don't give a damn but post nonsense anyways.)
You are correct. I haven't eaten a hamburger since I learned that they were made in sweatshops by underaged asian children.
Running shoes, like ground beef, can be microwaved as a convenient way to dry them off after a rainy run.
Damn. Beat me to it.
