Can anyone tell me where I can find elite competition for the 800 meters.
I need competition to help me run a 800 otherwise I am a big pussy and run slow times.

My coach said I'm a elite athlete and it is hard to find elite athletes good competition. My coach pretty much thinks I am his son and so he told me to look for elite competition but I can't find any.
What are your PRs?
Who do you run for?
I figure about 1:47 or so for the 800 meters.
I was in 4:08 mile shape last summer.
I know I'm going to breakout, I'mjust waiting for sub four to happen in the mile.
Come to BeanTown this summer for the CanAm High Performance track series.
Good times and nice weather (in the summer)
Find college races in your area and call the meet director as the final registration deadline approaches to see if any fast college guys are showing up. Or you can find a couple of fast guys and see where their college is racing on a given weekend and get into the race. At 1:47 you should be able to find a few guys running that over the next few months. If you're looking for a really elite field, like 1:44 and you need it in Jan or Feb then you need to go overseas. Germany usually has really fast 800's in February. I don't know how to get in those meets though.
If you just need a sub 1:50 field then look at a bunch of big school's meet schedules, do an internet search for last year's results and try to get into a good field. Here's my list of good meets with last years dates and results:
Feb 1 - UofW, Seattle - Winner Jeff Delong 1:49.27, 3 under 1:50, 7 under 1:51
Feb 7 - Lexington, Ky Rod McCravy Memorial - Winner Doaty 1:48.63, 4under1:50, 5under1:51
Feb 7-8 - Meyo Inv. Notre Dame - Winner Lee 1:48.58, 4under 1:50, 7under1:51
Feb 15 - Iowa State Classic, Ames, Iowa - Winner Joseph Lee, 1:48.51, 10under1:50 (this meet had a great field last year and I've ran on this great 300m track before)
Feb 15 UofW, Seattle - winner Whitmarsh 1:47.37, 4under1:50, 8under1:50
Feb 15 Razorback Inv - Langat 1:48.42, 5under1:50
Feb 14-15 - Armory Inv - Lekote 1:48.9 - 4under1:50
Feb 15 - Tyson Inv, Fayetteville - Krummenacker 1:47.20 - 4under1:50
I have more meets than this but cannot find where I wrote them down. Ask me if you need specific dates and can't find them.
Ps. No offence to your coach, but shouldn't he know of good places to race if he's coaching an athlete of your caliber?
How much longer will it be till he gose under sub four for the mile
