I know nothing about the science. How much does the weight of a item carried by a runner increase the impact of a footstrike?

it markedly increases the swelling of your vagina, as you are obviously a complete pu$$y. just run hard and run far. stopp worrying about this extraneous crap. sheesh.
obviously talking about water retention related to the menstrual cycle. well, to answer your question, it's not the water but the occasional cramps that bug me.
How much do the cramps affect your running pace? Do you lose a few seconds per mile or a lot?

Extra weight slows you down obviously, but if you unload the weight and speed up, then your footsrike impact is more or less the same, because of the higher speed, but the biomechanics are slightly different, because at higher speeds, the ground contact time of your feet is shorter.
You're welcome.
